    Randomness

It seems that sites like this go through fazes... two years ago Xanga was the rage I had a subscription digest come to my inbox every day... now I'm lucky if I get one in a month. Then there's Facebook that seems to be going strong for now although there are some people who just don't have time to update it while others seem to spend all day on there.

Life is Good because God is Good!!! Things around me may not be what I want them to be but if I keep my eyes on Jesus life will be good. Some people have the mentality that you base your view of life on the circumstances around you and your feelings. But if we take the mentality the with Jesus we can do anything that He asks us to and that we don't have to be under the circumstances but we can live above our circumstances then we will come to a peace and contentment that only He can give.

We need to be People for our time not of our time. Big difference.

Every morning I recieve a quote from dailychristianquotes.com and I have been so blessed. Here are a few of my personal favorites

    -------

When a man is not deeply convicted of sin, it is a pretty sure sign that he has not truly repented. Experience has taught me that men who have very slight conviction of sin sooner or later lapse back into their old life.

    Dwight L Moody

    --------

The following rules for daily living were made by Jonathan Goforth in 1894 and written on the fly-leaf of his Bible:
       1. Seek to give much -- expect nothing.
       2. Put the very best construction on the actions of others.
       3. Never let a day pass without at least a quarter of an hour spent in the study of the Bible.
       4. Never omit daily morning and evening private prayer and devotion.
       5. In all things seek to know God's Will and when known obey at any cost.
       6. Seek to cultivate a quiet prayerful spirit.
       7. Seek each day to do or say something to further Christianity among the heathen.

       Jonathan Goforth

    -------

Those who fear the Lord do not boast of their good observance. They consider that everything good in them comes not from themselves but from the Lord. They glorify him who is acting in them, saying with the prophet: "Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to thy name give the glory."

    Benedict of Nursia

    -------

Finally, mark this, that you must always make the AMEN strong, never doubting that God is surely listening to you with all grace and saying YES to your prayer. Remember that you are not kneeling or standing there alone, but that all Christendom, all devout Christians are standing there with you and you with them in one unanimous, united prayer which God cannot ignore. And never leave off praying without having said or thought: There now, this prayer has been heard by God; this I know of a certainty. That is what 'Amen' means.

    Martin Luther

    -------

I hope that you will be blessed this evening with the Joy of the Lord!

    Hey Everyone

Sorry for not updating sooner but we didn't have proper internet connection after we left Belize.

Our time went well in Durango and Chihuahua. We were blessed but very ready to come home. When we did arrive home however we were in for a mighty surprise. While we were gone an "army" of men came and totally resided our house (if that's how you say it) we were planning on doing it in the fall when we could afford it but they went and did it for us!!! We had ordered new windows and we knew they were going to be installed but we had no idea that they were going to put siding as well as install a new front door!!! I will have to post before and after pictures yet the change is unbelievable. We are truly blessed beyond measure!!!

It is late and I am really tired so I shall leave you all with that for now. Hopefully I can post some pictures yet.

    Hey People!!!

Since I last posted I had the opportunity to experience a Spanish Church service.... lets just say I can put it down that I've done it and I don't' really want to do it again. We left Vera Cruz Early Monday Morning and drove to Competche (or however you feel led to spell it) we were in a Mennonite "darp" visiting a couple there we ended up staying the night. I really enjoyed our stay there. There in Competche the dirt is RED it is really neat to see.

So we are in the tropical country of Belize. As I sit here typing this the wind is blowing off the ocean and the palm trees are waving in the wind it is really beautiful. And yes I really am by the ocean. We rented a room at "Tony's Inn & Beach Resort" its a really nice place. Tomorrow afternoon we are heading into "Blue Creek" where we will be staying at Pete & Tina Banman's place (I think) while we are here.

We have seen a lot of different kinds of wildlife as we have driven through. We have also seen a lot of different kinds of landscape driving through 3 different countries. We are planning to spend about 5 days here in Belize and then we are going to start our trek home. We hope to be home by the 10th of May!

I'm not sure if we are going to have Internet access while in Blue Creek but if we do I will try to keep you posted as best as I can!!!

    Well So long for now!!

  • Hello from the HOT country of Mexico!

    Hello!

I am sitting in Henry & Anna's Living room, the temperature is about 27 degrees (and Bre thats Celsius) and there is a cool breeze coming through once in awhile which is nice. We arrived here in Hueyapan, Vera Cruz, Mexico yesterday evening at about 8:30 (our time its an hour later at home) and Henry and Anna were at Church so we waited around until they came home.

Our travels have been good. God has really gone before us and prepared the way, we have had no check points along the way which we were grateful for. I think my worst dread was the washrooms along the way. I had heard horror stories about the washrooms how dirty and..... :shudders: but the Lord has been good and the places we stopped have been basically clean :sigh:

It is a whole new culture here and I am blessed to see how these people live. It makes me so grateful for the things we take for granted at home, like running unlimited water, toilets that flush, hot water, air conditioning, I could go on but I will refrain myself.

Last night the other two girls and I slept at John and Maria's house and it was HOT the fan reached to other two girls but it didn't quite reach me so I was sweating a good part of the night, they have little lizards here for their bug control and the are in the house and everything. they make a kissing noise so you know they are there I prayed hard that nothing would come and join me in bed :shudder: and nothing did :sigh:

We are going up to a mountain to a village where we are going to visit a pastor couple that Mom and Dad met the last time they were here.

I'm really missing everybody at home. But I'm learning to enjoy it here.
I'm gonna try to update tomorrow or Sunday. We are heading out to Belize bright and early Monday morning. I'm not 100% sure if I am going to have access to Internet out there but I shall do my best to keep you all updated.

Your friend that is enjoying the HOT weather,

  • McAllen Texas

    Hey People of the world!!

We arrived a little while ago in McAllen Texas. It is HOT here like 30 degrees Hot... yeah it feels nice... I have decided that it is stressful driving in the city and I don't want to be at the wheel... we are going shopping this afternoon, Dad and George went to go find out about car insurance for Mexico and Belize and we are "vegging" in our motel room waiting for them to come back so we can leave.

God has really been providing good prices for us on hotels these past 3 nights!

Days have been feel a bit long at times and my patience is wearing things at time. So if you think of me would you pray that I would respond to circumstances rightly? Thanks!!

I'm still missing all the people from home. I thought of them all when they had Bible Study last night and I'm gonna be thinking of you all at Gym Night as I am in the Hot air of Mexico!

I'm not sure how much access we will have to the Internet these next couple of days but I know we will have it at Henry and Anna's place and we are going to be there on Friday. So if you don't hear from me that is why.

The Other kids want to use the computer so I am going to let them for now.

oh and we are planning... PLANNING on being home on the 9th... thats only 24 more days!!!!!!!! when I say planning that means anything could happen.
